Berlin spent most of the twentieth century being governed by people who were afraid of it. This is the pair of tours for anyone who wants that century straight: the rise and fall of the Third Reich on day one, and life behind the Iron Curtain on day two.
Run in that order deliberately. The second day is unreadable without the first — the GDR built its state on the ruins, the rhetoric and quite often the actual buildings of the one that preceded it.
